Domestic Violence UK is working on 3 major projects for the first quarter of the year
These projects will:
- raise awareness on the issues of domestic and emotional abuse
- provide general information and support to individuals with a view to improving their general wellbeing.
PROJECTS
February Campaign: We are having a #lovedoesnthurt wristband and shopping bag campaign In February. We will be distributing FREE shopping bags and wristbands to individuals who want to assist us in raising awareness on the issues of domestic and emotional abuse.
The Wellbeing Centre: We will be updating and relaunching The Wellbeing Centre. This is an online resource containing a series of articles, planners, podcasts, videos and interactive tools focusing on one’s physical mental and emotional health.
It will cover topics such as:
- Family Health
- Children’s Health
- Work Place Health
- Stress
- Addiction
- Bullying
- Emotional & Physical health
**All content is syndicated directly from THE NHS Choices website**
The Advice HUB: This is our major project for the first quarter of the year. The Advice Hub will provide individuals with essential information on welfare benefits, flexible working, local support groups, job search and basic parenting help.
We will also create an independent benefits calculator to find out:
- What benefits you could get
- How to claim
- How your benefits will be affected if you start work.
Please Note: The licenses for the calculator will be configured and purchased from an agency accredited by the government and the service will be anonymous and free to use.
There will be a basic advice directory which will signpost individuals to local or national support groups.
We will support people looking for jobs by:
- Publishing articles on how to draft a cv, write a covering letter and prepare for an interview
- Develop a generic cv builder and offer a free cv review service once a month*
*We intend to provide some personal development coaching and syndicate free online courses.
How you can help
We need volunteer recruiters who won’t mind reviewing cv’s free of charge.
We need people who can contribute articles to the hub and signpost to the relevant local and national support groups.
We need registered counsellors, coaches or hr advisors who can offer personal development coaching sessions via telephone once a month.
We need to promote these services once they become available.
We also need donations to support this work because DVUK doesn’t receive any grant or government funding.
Please contact admin@domesticviolenceuk.org or surrie@domesticviolenceuk.org for further information.
Thank you
