Become An Ambassador For Domestic Violence UK

Our Ambassadors support the organisation by promoting our projects, initiatives and campaigns. They are committed to our cause and are actively involved in raising awareness on the issues of domestic and emotional abuse.

**Ambassadors are not Trustees and do not have any of the legal responsibilities of a Trustee.

Person Specification

  • Have integrity
  • Be compassionate and show empathy
  • Be passionate about raising awareness on the issues of domestic and emotional abuse.
  • Show a high level of commitment to the organisation in order to see it fulfil its objectives.
  • Must be of voting age (18 years or over) and eligible to vote in the U.K.

Ambassadors can support us by:

  • Creatively raising awareness on the issues of domestic and emotional abuse.
  • Acknowledging the importance of specialist support organisations and signposting individuals to such organisations if necessary.
  • Fundraising for us and encouraging partnership or sponsorship with individuals/organisations.
  • Being named on our literature and publicity material.
  • Generating media coverage.
  • Hosting or attending fundraising/campaign events
  • Contributing to the public image of the organisation
  • Attracting new supporters, ambassadors and patrons

They can expect:

  • An Ambassadors Certificate
  • To receive regular briefings and information about the work of the organisation such as newsletters and emails.
  • A phone call or letter from the one of the directors or advisory board a few times in a year.
  • An invitation to any of the campaigns or events we hold during the year.
  • A request for approval to use their name or images on our publicity materials
  • To have any queries with reference to the organisation answered promptly

In return we expect:

  • Up to date contact information for correspondence
  • The use of their name and photo on our publicity materials, such as the annual report, website, magazines, flyers, and newsletters.
  • Assistance in raising funds for the organisation
  • Coordinating at least one fundraising event per year for the organisation
  • All the activities should be done within the remit of their role, because it is essential that Ambassadors adopt consistent messaging for maximum impact.
  • Regularly provide updates about their activities and ensure that their communications with the press about the organisation or issues that pertain to domestic and emotional abuse are appropriate and approved of by the organisation.
  • They conduct themselves in a manner which does not undermine the reputation of Domestic Violence UK.
